Loki’s striking force were reduced in numbers for the game as several players had to be dismissed due to injury problems. As a result of this manager András Herczeg pushed winger Zsolt Laczkó up front who was supposed to be familiar with this position from his earlier clubs.

 

The home side did not look to be frightened by their CL opponents, they came out to produce some creative football so it was little surprise when they took the lead in the 17th minute: the defence could not clear the ball after a corner kick giving opportunity for Bank to score from a well placed shot.
 
The goal doubled the efforts for the home side and they continued to dominate and Mészáros’s injury did not help the visitor’s case either; Szűcs replaced the central defender in the 31st minute.
 
The second half started ideally: Czvitkovics’s deflected free kick wrongfooted the Kaposvár goalie, and the surprised goaltender could only watch the ball landing in his net. Only a little later Szakály was brought down inside the box, Czvitkovics added another to his tally from the resulted penalty kick.

 

The game appeared to be going back on track when Kaposvár unexpectedly turned everything around again. Players of both teams were playing an open attacking football from then on giving real entertainment to the spectators. Szakály equalized again for Loki and substitute striker, Rezes got away to put DVSC ahead for one more time.

Only ten minutes left on the clock at this time but this ten minutes was enough for another twist as Kaposvár came back to it again to score the equalizer but Loki still had an ace up the sleeve. One minute before the final whistle we were awarded for another penalty. Adamo Coulibaly stepped up, but Poleksic also came up to take the kick. In the end it was our goalie who hit the bar from the penalty. 4-4 it stayed.
